Creating a dating profile can easily cause anxiety. What pictures do I share? What about me will be interesting for other people to learn? How much does any of this really matter? All great questions. And again, all questions that can cause anxiety.
Follow these 3 easy tips when creating your profile, and you’ll find that anxiety start to dissipate if not leave all together.
Upload a picture of you and your pet. If you don’t have a pet, use a picture that shows your head, shoulders, and your smile.
Profile pictures that include pets grab peoples’ attention more so than any other type of profile picture. What do when you don’t have a pet? Scroll through your photos and find a good pic where you’re genuinely smiling. Upper body focus is plenty good, and if you get to this point and you still can’t find one, then ask a friend to take one for you or pop a selfie.
Be original when answering profile questions.
Everyone here loves to game, so talk about what types of games or which games specifically you love. You don’t need to share your life story (that can come after you meet someone!). What you do need to do is create some hooks to grab peoples’ attention. Share why you like the games you like, or why you always replay a game using the same character. Those are the profiles that really pop.
Be honest when you tell people what kind of person you are looking for.
Raw excitement hits the moment you receive or send a message. What will happen!? Could this be the one!? How do I respond!? Questions that bring anxiety. Lessen your anxiety by being open and honest about who you want to find. If you want to find someone that games and keeps a fairly normal 9-5 career, then say that. That helps you from having people reach out that want something else entirely. And if you don’t know what you want, then say that too! That’s entirely ok and very normal!
